History: The deceased were lowered tied to boards through long shafts into tombs where workers arranged the bodies in their final resting places, often alongside previously interred family members. Tomb figures were placed with the fallen to provide companionship, guidance, and protection in the afterlife. Description: Female figure wearing a headwrap, necklace, 6 arm bands, and a skirt. Professionally reattached head and left arm. Some surface loss to the tassel of the headwrap and right shoulder. Mineral deposits confirm approximately 2000 years of underground burial.
