Dimensions: 6 inches tall, 4 inches wide, weighs 464 grams Provenance: Ex. Private Jerusalem collection, Acquired in the aftermath of the 1967 Six Day War. Acquired by John McIntosh, MSE, MBA, Ancient Artifacts & Treasures, Winter Park, Florida in 2022. Acquired by The Artifact City collection in 2025. Description: Redware potter’s wheel formed beaker painted cream. Mineral deposits indicative of approximately 1500 years of underground burial. Small rim chips and some paint loss. No repairs or restorations found. Overall Excellent condition. Between 400 and 600 AD, the Byzantine Empire controlled the Holy Land, transforming it into a major Christian center through the construction of numerous churches, monasteries, and pilgrimage sites.
